THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS
The Unusual Suspects takes three talented performers, ten zany characters, Port Elizabeth's top director, a dead broad, a live one and a rather defective detective and you have the makings of a great evening of fun!

Written by Gary Hemmings and directed by Robin Williams, this laugh-a-minute production is a witty and somewhat risqué show-case of the chameleon-like talents of Gino Fabbri, accompanied by Tara-Jane Metzler and Clifford Klebb.

...suspects gino as Minuto Peniso Tara as Roxy Hart Clifford as Dick unusual...
The Unusual Suspects, which proved very popular at this year's Grahamstown Festival, is a hilarious take-off of the Mickey Spillane styled detective movies.

Fabbri follows up his Awesome Powers/DR Evil roles by this time playing another team of odd-ball characters and murder suspects. His superb comedic timing and ad-libbed one-liners enhance the show's versatile appeal.

He switches effortlessly from the arrogant German aristocrat Randy Vokker to an incompetent and depressed Samurai Warrior, from the quirky new age "feminine" psychic Lejeandrevonne Rensburg who gives John Edwards a run for his money, to the Bollywood talent scout Rancid Punjabi and from the glib mobster hitman Vito Incognito to the tragically compromised Latin lover Minuto Peniso.

Tara-Jane Metzler is terrific in the duel roles of the twin sisters Roxy Hart and Ricky Demeanor, extending her exceptional singing talents to make a very impressive turn in the acting arena.

Thespian stalwart Clifford Kleb takes on the role of the luckless Dick Horner, playing the stereotypical film noir trench coat-clad detective with just the right amount of dead-pan panache to counter the eccentricities of Fabbri's colourful characters.

With plenty of plot twists, crazy songs and zany, irreverent humour, the Unusual Suspects should prove to be an entertaining diversion.
