The show introduces Port Elizabeth's new girl-group The New Supremes, who, along with the Denzil Africa Out of Africa band, will be paying a high energy tribute to South Africa's diverse musical heritage in a show entitled The African Melting Pot.

The show features songs from South African divas such as Miriam Makeba's Click Song, Pata Pata and Meadowlands, Brenda Fassie's Weekend Special, Too Late for Mama and Vulindlela, Margaret Singana's Ipi Ntombi, Mama Tembu's Wedding and The Warrior, Vicky Sampson's My African Dream and Yvonne Chaka Chaka's version of Motherland.

Lady Blacksmith's Diamonds on the Souls of My Shoes and Homeless are part of a Paul Simon tribute, while Mango Groove's Shooting Star, Hometalk and Dance Some More, PJ Powers's Jabulani, Feel So Strong and World in Union, Bright Blue's Weeping, Sipho Hotstix's Burn Out and Lucky Dube also feature.

The show keeps a vibrant party feel through-out and takes in a range of different styles and genres which pour into the melting pot, blending into an authentic South African sound - kwaito stars such as Mandoza and Mafikizolo are included in the line-up, which also takes in the Kaapse Draai Goemba sound as well as medley's of Afrikaans hits such as Loslappie, Meisie Meisie and Liewe Lulu.

The New Supremes make a formidable vocal and visual impression - they are headed up by Donna Africa, who is also a member of another Centrestage girl-group The Sensations. Joining her is the live-wire Nozibele Sneli, the angel-voiced Nellie J and powerhouse Linda Tshwana.

The band comprises of PE's most accomplished and experienced musicians - with Patrick Jacobs on drums, Joseph Potgieter on bass, Mark Bouwers and Denzil Africa on dual keyboards, with the brass section comprising of Dudley Tito and Pieter Kamutoe.

The extravaganza will also show-case the New Generation Theatre Group's African dance group and choir, headed up by Reverend Maqina, who will add even more colour to the musical festivities.
